1234app is a catalog of Android apps and games, plus apps for other platforms, built on one principle: you should be able to check where every file you download comes from.

What 1234app is

We help you find apps through categories, curated collections, popularity rankings and search. Every app page shows what you need before installing: version, size, minimum Android version, requested permissions, version history and changelogs.

How we handle files

• Hosted by us. Files live in our own storage instead of being linked from other sites. Downloads only go through official links that hand out a temporary address valid for a few minutes.
• Checked before release. Every upload goes into quarantine, and its type, structure and signature are checked. When enabled, the file is also virus-scanned and its checksum looked up in the VirusTotal database; the app page shows whether a file was scanned. Files detected as malicious are blocked and never go live.
• Public checksums. The SHA-256 checksum of every version is shown, so you can confirm the file you downloaded is identical to the one we published.
• Pinned certificates. Package names and signing certificates are pinned from the first version. A version with a different certificate is flagged and held for review, so a fake update can’t replace the original app.

How apps get listed

1. Our team picks the app and creates its page, then uploads the file or adds the official download link.
2. Metadata such as the package name, version, permissions and certificate is read straight from the uploaded file.
3. The file is checked (and virus-scanned when enabled) before it goes live. A version signed with a different certificate than before is held for review.
4. For apps not hosted on 1234app, the Download button goes to the official site or app store, and the app page says so.

Anyone can report an app at any time, and our team can take down apps that break the rules.

Apps are made and provided by their own developers, not by 1234app. Our checks and review lower the risk, but can’t guarantee that an app is completely safe. Always check the permissions before installing.
